Portable Skype
Here's a very useful tip for Skype users who want to be able to carry a copy around on a USB flash drive.
Download Skype and install it.
Browse to C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone.
Copy Skype.exe file to any folder on your USB flash drive (such as PortableSkype).
Create a new subfolder called "data".
Now create a new text document and call it Skype.cmd.
Edit Skype.cmd with Notepad and enter the following lines:
@echo off start Skype.exe /datapath:"data" /removable
Save the file.
Now if you double-click on it, Skype will be run in "portable" mode, using the data folder for saving all its information instead of the registry.

300
Went to see 300 today with my brother at the London IMAX. It was bloody amazing! Absolutely fantastic movie, on a huge IMAX screen... made it even better! I highly recommend anyone wanting to see 300 to go to their nearest IMAX showing it.

RDP Connection Bar
Do you use the Remote Desktop (Terminal Services) client regularly? I know I do. I've got 7 servers to manage. Do you use it in full screen mode? Does your connection bar auto-hide by default?
You can make it displayed by default by modifying a simple value in the registry.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client] "PinConnectionBar"=dword:00000001
Put the above in a text file called "connectionbar.reg" and run it, or use regedit.exe to change it.
I hate it when the connection bar auto-hides!

sIFR
I've finally dumped the text replacement script I was using to produce my font styled dates, and have implemented sIFR 2.0.2. Now the text is actually selectable, and not an image. Hopefully I'll be able to replace the "does it echo?" text in the banner too, but it needs to be transparent, which is a bit trickier.
