Time To Find A New Car
I found out on Friday what was going on with my car after I'd crashed on the 24th of August.
It's been deemed a "constructive write-off" as the parts to repair it are unavailable. Since it's an MG no one makes parts for it any more, and they're incredibly hard to come by. So instead of getting it repaired, there was nothing the insurance company could do but call it a total loss. I'm getting £4978 back from my insurer which will go towards my replacement.
I went on 2 test drives today, in my bid to find a new duckmobile. They went pretty well and I've also narrowed my shortlist down to the 2 I test drove. I'm currently looking at the Seat Ibiza and a Mazda3. Both very nice cars, and lovely to drive... this is going to be a tough decision. Especially since I was so attached to my MG and had upgraded the sound system. I probably won't be able to do much "upgrading" to either of these two... maybe even less in the Mazda.
Update: It looks like it is possible after all to remove the stock radio from the Mazda, maybe, hopefully. I would prefer to have the Mazda3 over the Ibiza... it's a much nicer car, and bigger too.
