Who's Flying This Thing?
Passengers on a Canadian plane had an unsettling in-flight experience after the pilot found himself locked out of the cockpit after a trip to the toilet.Instead of slipping back inside, the Air Canada Jazz pilot was seen banging on the door and talking to his first officer on an internal phone.
Crew members were forced to take the door off its hinges to let him back in.
Luckily the first officer was still in charge of the plane, so there wasn't any danger.

Bad Day For Relationships?
The Telegraph writes "Today is the day when couples are most likely to have a row".
It is bucketing down outside, the summer holidays mean that you have been closeted with your loved one for longer than either of you might like and your mother-in-law is on the phone asking if you are going to her for Christmas. It is a recipe for tension and makes today, Aug 30, the day that most couples have arguments, it is claimed.
Relationship experts say that post-holiday depression, domestic chaos, financial strains and lack of sunshine contribute to rows.
On that note I just have to say... Happy Wedding Anniversary Mum & Dad!

Motherf**ckin' Snakes!
Oh... My... God!
Snakes On A Plane rocks so hard it hurts.
It had a plane. It had snakes. It had Samuel L Jackson. Seriously... what more do you actually need? Wow! Yes the plot was a little thin, but do I care? No!
There was action, there were thrills, there was horror. All in a confined space, filled with tons of pissed off poisonous snakes. Gruesome deaths aplenty. I'm not sure how many people got bitten, but it was a lot, and it all happened so damn fast. I think I better stop myself there, before I give away too much.
If you haven't seen this yet... GO SEE IT! You will NOT be disappointed.
Cinema will never be the same again.

Movable Type 3.31
I've finally bitten the bullet and installed Movable Type 3.31 on here. I'd been holding off upgrading until all the plugins I use had been upgraded but it doesn't look like one of my favourites ever will, which is very disappointing. I may have to try to work out how to convert it from BigPAPI to Transformer myself, unfortunately I don't know a lot about how Perl works so it might be too big a job for me. I'd hate to lose the functionality that particular plugin gives me. I'm still waiting on one of the others to be updated, but the author is planning on releasing it soon.
I haven't gotten everything upgraded yet, there are some tweaks still to do but these are mainly behind the scenes. Increasing the size of text entry boxes, adding an Updated On button, adding some quicktag buttons etc. Nothing exciting really... just stuff that makes my life easier as blog owner.
I am also hoping that I will be able to re-enable commenting. After being hit by automated attacks my server was overwhelmed and Perl kept locking up as all the processes were being used by the comment script. Hopefully this is all over now, and maybe I can accept legitimate comments again.
Update: Apparently I can't enable comments yet. No sooner had I allowed comments on this post and my server was hit by a distributed spam attack which disabled Perl completely for hours. Grr!! I HATE SPAMMERS.
I'm going to have to find another way to allow commenting, maybe obfuscating the URL somehow? *sigh* This is most frustrating.
Update 2: That plugin I was talking about before... and not being sure if it would ever get updated. Well it still hasn't, but I had a go at fixing it myself and it appears to be working. All in all it just needed 2 lines changing, not as bad as I first thought!

Stupid Kids In A Playground
A few days ago my attention was drawn to a video posted on YouTube of a bunch of kids in a playground messing about on a roundabout with a moped to power it. They manage to get it up to a pretty high speed (for a merry-go-round) before the 2 girls clinging onto it in the middle are violently flung off. This video is below:
I quickly realised from the title of the video that this took place about 15 miles from where I live, Crawley in West Sussex. Then last night I heard on the news that the police are investigating the stunt. They want to know who the kids in the video are, and if the 2 girls were harmed in the process. They could well have broken something, but they may have just gotten badly grazed. In fact they're both incredibly lucky they didn't get flung into the moped itself, which might've broken a neck.
UPDATE: The police have now tracked down the culprits and the owner of the scooter will be given an ASBO.
UPDATE 2: You can't really have a story like this without YTMND having something to do with it. Hehe.
