New Search

One thing I hadn't gotten around to fixing was the template used by the Movable Type search engine. For some reason Six Apart haven't bothered to move the old template into the CMS, so you're stuck with a flat file that doesn't make it easy to add PHP includes to.

So off I went Googling for a PHP solution, and found a few. After fiddling with them I found that I could only really use one of them... but even that needed some tweaking and hacking before it'd work on my web server.

Anyway, it works now, and looks pretty damn spiffy. The tutorial I used is by Michael Simmons, and should work for most people using MT, unless you are using a BlogPlace where you'll probably need some help from me.
